THE SEVILLA ROCK ART TRAIL
The 5km trail winds along the Brandewyn river and visits nine sites of rock art paintings.
The trail is relatively easy walking, the atmosphere is inspiring and in spring the wild flowers are an added bonus. Over and above Springbok, Hartebees and Eland, small game, "dassies" (rock rabbits) and baboons may be encountered on the walk and a fascinating array of indigenous plant species and birds can be observed.
A free pamphlet with information about each of the nine sites is available from Traveller's Rest farm stall. For those who would like more information on the rock art as well as plants on the trail, copies of the book "Rock Art of the Western Cape - Book 1: The Sevilla Trail" by Peter Slingsby is for sale at the farm stall at R95.00.
Permits: Obtain permits at the Traveller's Rest farm stall at R40 per person.
Children under 12 are free of charge.
